We are looking for part time support workers to join our homes in Canterbury to support and encourage young adults to develop life skills to move towards independent living.

Applicants should have:

 

  • Experience in supporting young adults with challenging behavior and/or mental health issues

  • The confidence to work alone or as part of a team

  • Patience, empathy and compassion

  • The ability to provide a positive role model to the young people we support

  • Excellent communication skills

  • The desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding

  • The ability to complete and maintain administrative records within the organisation

 

You will need to:

  • Possess a minimum of two years’ experience working in a similar position

  • Hold or be willing to achieve a Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care with Children and Young People or equivalent (or the ability and commitment to work towards achieving it within 12 months)

  • Ideally a full, clean driving license

  • Be prepared to work early and late shifts (including sleepovers) on a rota basis

  • Support Workers must be over the age of 21 (Employer has claimed an exemption under the Equality Act 2010)

 

Benefits

  • Full Time Equivalent £ 21,944 ( 40 hours, 2 sleep ins a week )

  • £ 9.30 Per Hour plus sleep ins, Subject to Experience and Qualifications

Our Organisation

We are a not for profit community interest company that are dedicated to providing the highest standards of support by providing inventive support pathways for people to live in group settings with sometimes challenging behavior and possible mental health needs within our supported living homes and outreach services. We actively encourage our young people to take control of their lives – this could be finding employment, attending college, having an active social life, learning new skills or building self-confidence.

Candidates will be required to complete an enhanced DBS disclosure prior to commencement of employment, the disclosure expense will be met by the employer.
