Our overall purpose is to provide a high standard of accommodation and provide safe, supportive and nurturing environments for young people aged 16 and over, to ensure they are able to develop and maintain respect, independence and build self-support skills to enable them to make educated, age- appropriate choices concerning their present and future so they can accomplish an effective transition into independence and adulthood. With our aims and objectives being :

  • Offer planned placements of short, medium and long-term support to young people 16 and over.

  • Support young people to achieve their full potential in relation to all aspects and dimensions of their lives and to develop their personal identity and accept responsibility for their own actions ensuring that they are involved in all decisions.

  • Provide a structured, stimulating, nurturing and safe environment that is free from any prejudices and which offers young people the opportunity to be listened to and express their wishes, needs and feelings.

  • Encourage a positive sense of self-image through responding to the young person’s individuality by treating them with dignity and focusing on and reinforcing positive behaviour.

  • Provide a safe environment where young people can reflect on their choices and experiences, stabilise their behaviour, regain control of their life and find managing tools to assist them.

  • Maintain and support young people in promoting and developing their health, educational and developmental needs in order that they can develop their full potential.

  • Work in partnership with young people and all other significant relevant people and agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes for all young people.

  • Help and support young people to develop independence skills to enable them to move on into their own home.

  • Whenever a young person moves on, we are able to provide outreach support for this transition and provide continuity.

  • Ensure that all staff receive ongoing training, support and guidance to enable them to support the young people to the best of their ability.

We will deliver the above aims and objectives in a non-judgmental, non-punitive way engendering an ethos of support and mutual respect, aiming to encourage young people to become well balanced, positive and productive members of our society whilst working towards independence.
